Private Thomas Prince

 

The background of this man is not known at present.

Thomas Prince enlisted in the North Irish Horse at Belfast on 31 August 1916 (No.2258). He was described as being 5' 7¼" tall, with a sallow complexion and dark hair, and a scar on his right abdomen. He gave his age as 23, his birthplace as Dublin, and his occupation as a butler.

Prince was reported to have deserted from the regiment's reserve base at Antrim on 1 October 1916. It is not known if he was subsequently apprehended or returned to duty.
